Honor's Ambition Behind Magic V6: Phone, Robot, AI Glasses — Honor's "Iron Triangle

Honor showcases full AI lineup at MWC 2026, from foldable phones to robots to AI glasses. The brand once under Huawei is redefining itself with AI.

Honor's Ambition Behind Magic V6: Phone, Robot, AI Glasses — Honor's "Iron Triangle

Barcelona — If you盘点 MWC 2026's most surprising brands, Honor certainly counts.

The brand, once a subsidiary of Huawei, seems to have found its direction after independence. March 3, Honor showcased a series of AI products at MWC — not just phones, but also robots and AI glasses.

From "Phone Brand" to "AI Brand"

After the launch, I met a tech blogger who came to MWC specifically to see Honor.

"Before, Honor was 'budget Huawei,'" he said. "Now Honor is completely different — it's redefining itself with AI."

Indeed, what Honor showcased at MWC wasn't just phones. More precisely, phones are just "one node" in their AI ecosystem.

Magic V6: Not Just Foldable

The most eye-catching product was the Magic V6 foldable phone. But what Honor CEO Zhao Ming said in his speech was thought-provoking:

"We're not selling a phone — we're selling an AI gateway."

Specifically, Magic V6 has Honor's self-developed AI engine built in, which can:

Real-time translation, supporting 20 languages

AI-enhanced photography, automatically recognizing scenes

Smart schedule management, proactively helping arrange meetings

Upgraded voice assistant, understanding complex commands

Robots: Honor's "Unexpected Fortune"

But what truly excited the media were the robots Honor showcased.

Not concept products, but real working products.

Honor showed two robots: one is a "robot phone" — you can think of it as a phone with legs; the other is a general-purpose humanoid robot that can perform simple tasks.

"Many asked why we make robots," Zhao Ming said in an interview. "The answer is simple: robots are the ultimate form of AI."

AI Glasses: Next "iPhone Moment"?

In addition to robots and phones, Honor also showcased AI glasses.

These glasses can real-time translate text you see, recognize objects, take and translate photos. According to staff, these glasses will officially launch in 2027.

"We believe AI glasses might be the next computing platform after smartphones," Zhao Ming said. "Just like iPhone redefined phones, we want to redefine glasses."

Honor's "Iron Triangle" Strategy

From phones to robots to glasses — Honor's layout at MWC is called the "Iron Triangle" strategy.

Phones are "gateway," robots are "carrier," and glasses are "accessory." Connected through AI, they form a complete ecosystem.

"Single devices are no longer enough," a tech analyst said. "The future is ecosystem competition. Honor clearly understands this."

Huawei's Shadow and Independent Path

Interestingly, Honor's booth was next to Huawei's. The two companies are in the same venue but completely separate booths.

But technically, Honor's connection with Huawei remains close. Magic series design language, some underlying technologies all show Huawei's influence.

"We respect Huawei as our predecessor," Zhao Ming said at the launch. "But Honor will walk its own path."

Epilogue

Leaving Honor's booth, the European tech blogger told me: "I used to think Honor was just 'budget Huawei.' Today I changed my view."

Perhaps this is Honor's answer after three years of independence: no longer anyone's replacement, but a new player in the AI era.
