Samsung Galaxy AI "Ecosystem Unification": Phone Is Just Entry Point — True Goal Is "Internet of Everything
Samsung showcases Galaxy AI ecosystem at MWC 2026: from phone to watch to TV, all devices connected by AI. Building next iPhone moment, or Apple's nightmare?
Barcelona — Samsung's "AI empire" is taking shape.
At MWC 2026, Samsung showcased expanded Galaxy AI ecosystem — from phones to watches, from tablets to TVs, all devices connected by AI.
Not Just Phones
When mentioning Galaxy AI, many first think of phone AI. But Samsung's ambition goes far beyond that.
"Galaxy AI is an ecosystem," Samsung executive said in speech. "Phone is entry point, not everything."
Specifically, Galaxy AI now covers:
Galaxy phones: AI photography, AI translation
Galaxy Watch: AI health monitoring
Galaxy Buds: AI real-time translation
Galaxy Tab: AI office assistance
Galaxy TV: AI content recommendation

Galaxy TV: AI content recommendation
"You can start from phone, then extend to all devices," Samsung product manager said. "This is 'unification.'"
Difference from Apple
Samsung and Apple are both doing AI ecosystems, but strategies differ.
Apple is "closed ecosystem": iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch — but mainly relying on Apple itself.
Samsung is "open ecosystem": besides own devices, also supports third-party.
"We don't do Apple," Samsung executive said. "We do 'AI Android.'"
What is "AI Unification"?
Simply, your AI experience on one device can seamlessly transfer to other devices.
For example:
AI writing started on phone continues on tablet
Health data from watch auto-syncs to phone for analysis
Content seen on TV can be "one-click purchased" on phone

"Boundaries between devices are disappearing," analysts pointed out. "AI is the connection."
Samsung's Challenges
But this road has challenges.
Fragmentation: Android ecosystem fragmented, AI even harder to unify
Privacy: Data transfer between devices brings privacy concerns
Experience: How to ensure consistent experience across devices?

"Hardest is ecosystem integration," an industry person said. "Not technology, but coordination."
Commercial Prospects
Despite challenges, commercial prospects are enticing.
"Device manufacturers won't make money from hardware in future," analyst said. "Make money from AI services."
Samsung's calculation: first occupy market with hardware, then monetize with AI services.
"This is same logic as iPhone back then," the person said. "Hardware is entry point, software is profit."
Epilogue
At Samsung booth, I experienced Galaxy AI's "handoff" feature. AI writing assistant opened on phone, seamlessly continued on tablet — indeed smooth.
"This is the future," a visitor said. "Devices shouldn't have boundaries."
Perhaps this is Samsung's ambition: not making a "better iPhone," but making a "boundaryless" ecosystem.
