BYD Launches Seal 07 with Flash Charging Tech: 10% to 70% in Just 5 Minutes
BYD releases the new Seal 07 model equipped with its latest flash charging technology, enabling charging from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes, significantly improving pure EV charging efficiency.
March 2026 — BYD released its all-new Seal 07 model, one of the first vehicles equipped with BYD's latest flash charging technology. The new model can charge from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes, marking a new phase in electric vehicle charging technology.
Flash Charging: Redefining Charging Speed
BYD's flash charging technology represents the latest breakthrough in the company's battery technology research. Compared to traditional fast charging, flash charging employs new battery materials and thermal management systems, capable of handling higher power charging input while maintaining battery life and safety.
"Our flash charging technology represents the future of electric vehicle charging," said a BYD technical负责人 at the launch event. "The ability to charge 70% in 5 minutes will completely change the user experience of mobility."
The Seal 07 is the latest addition to BYD's Seal series, built on BYD's latest e-platform 3.0. This platform integrates all of BYD's core technologies in battery, motor, and electronic control systems.
Supporting Charging Infrastructure
The application of flash charging technology requires support from corresponding high-power charging infrastructure. BYD stated it is collaborating with multiple charging operators to deploy supercharging stations supporting flash charging technology.
Currently, BYD has built over 5,000 flash charging stations in China, with plans to double this number by the end of 2026. Construction of flash charging stations in European and North American markets is also progressing simultaneously.
Driving Industry Development
The launch of BYD's flash charging technology may accelerate charging technology upgrades across the entire electric vehicle industry. Several automotive manufacturers and battery companies have already announced plans to develop similar flash charging technology.
Industry analysts believe that with the popularization of flash charging technology, the convenience of electric vehicles will significantly improve, potentially accelerating the replacement of traditional fuel-powered vehicles.
